We recommend taking a hike through the Werner Sauter Biological Reserve. It will surely be an experience you will enjoy and remember. This amazing reserve is located only 10 minutes away from Playa Samara.
Intercultura in Samara offers popular yoga classes taught by local and international expert teachers Monday through Thursday. Yoga flow, meditative yoga and power yoga are offered. Call ahead to reserve your spot as they can book out fast.
The Samara restaurants are just minutes walk from the Tree Houses and serve delicious local Costa Rican food, Spanish, Italian, German, French and more. There is something for everyone. After dinner you may want to also sample local dessert shops.
Some say this is an experience of a lifetime. A shuttle will take you to a special nesting beach near Samara where you will be able to watch turtles come ashore, dig nests and lay eggs. You may even see babies hatch!
Playa Samara produces magnificent sunsets almost everyday. What can be more simple and romantic as taking stroll on the beach watching the sunset? Many of our guests love doing this before dinner.

Samara is the perfect place to learn how to surf. With natural reefs at each end of our cove to keep the breaks under control, no under tow, sandy bottom and warm waters makes it safe for all ages and abilities.
Right out the front of our tree houses is the perfect part of the beach to swim in the ocean. Many of our guests love this simple activity the most because of it’s convenience to our hotel and it’s relaxing and rejuvenating effect.
For those thrill seeking individuals, this is for you. Soar up to 40 feet above the warm tropical waters in the protected bays, spin and dive below the surface. Test your balance and control like nothing else. Training is provided.
Samara has both world class deep sea fishing and amazing near shore fishing as well. Many records have been set in this area. Some people have managed to catch 220lb tuna! Other common fish include red-snapper, marlin and giant sailfish.
Snorkelers can expect to see abundant angelfish, blue-stripped grunts, schoolmaster snappers and hundreds of other varieties. As well as turtles, dolphins and even whales. Samara has amazing clear water and gorgeous reefs.
After a short drive from our hotel you will reach the Ora river from there you will launch and experience the unspoiled Costa Rica nature from the mountains to the sea. You will see amazing wildlife and untouched nature.
